Documents required for renouncing the Romanian citizenship

What documents must be included in the file for renouncing the Romanian citizenship?

Whether you submit the file personally or through a representative, at the diplomatic missions of Romania or at the A.N.C. counter, the file must be COMPLETE and contain:

  • Completed application;
  • Opis documents;
  • Declaration on own responsibility regarding the absence of debts to phisical and legal persons in Romania;
  • Declaration on G.D.P.R.;
  • 2 small photos;
  • Civil status documents in original and certified copy. If the civil status documents are issued abroad, they can be transcribed in the Romanian Registers or foreign ones can be used, but apostilled, translated and legalized;
  • Tax certificate from the D.I.T.L. of the applicant’s last residence;
  • Tax certificate from the A.N.A.F. of the applicant’s last domicile;
  • Application processing fee
  • Special power of attorney (only if the file is submitted by the representative).
